About The Luminants
4 piece played extensively around Ireland late 70's to 81. They were a sharp guitar new wave influenced by XTC . Songs included Ordinary Vegetable, Fingers & Diamond Rings, At Your Cervix.
Original Line-Up:
- Gerry Fleming - guitar / vocals
- Tom Fetherson - bass / backing vocals
- Derek Farrell - guitar / backing vocals
- Gerry Kilroy - drums
Later line-ups:
George Murphy took over on drums from Gerry Kilroy. Shortly after Derek Herbert took over the role of vocalist and front man.
Derek went on to front Les Enfants and later bands such as The Big Noise and The Superseeds.

Dereck went on to front the great Les Enfants. Gerry went into writing notibly: Torn & Tumbledown (Hot Press single of the fortnight) Chet Baker top radio pick in France & The Last Great Love Song. No 1 for Finbar Furey
